KFC offers free one piece grilled chicken

October 27, 2009 |11:50 | Gossips  By : Team X

Earlier this year, Kentucky Fried Chicken suffered a public relations nightmare when a free grilled chicken coupon deal turned costly, and the franchise dropped the deal and changed it to a mail-in voucher.

Today, KFC tried a new deal. One day only, customers could come in or go to the drive-thru and order a free one piece grilled chicken.

The offer runs until the restaurants close tonight, and it made a few people happy who took advantage.

"This is awesome. Anytime you can get something free these days, it is awesome," Michelle Harris told WTOC. "No coupons. Just come in and get your chicken."

The response wasn't as large as the earlier meal deal with the coupon, which was featured on "Oprah." The company also had to deal with several phony coupons for the deal which was limited to one coupon per customer.

This deal was coupon free.
